The car’s body was completely assembled and adjustments made to improve the fit of the body components.
A few bolt holes were slightly off and needed to be welded and re-drilled.
You can see my smashed rear fender and wheel mounted on the wall just above the convertible top. Byron mounted it to his wall as a piece of body art – it certainly brings on some interesting conversations.
The headlight stands fit fine on the passenger side.
Not too bad on the driver’s side however…
This headlight stand needed a little heat adjustment in order to lay flat to the front fender.
Once we were happy with the fit of the body components it was completely disassembled AGAIN!
The doors are taped closed because the cowl body wood has been completely removed and with no wood in the cowl everything kind of sags. We all need our skeletons…
The cowl wood has been completely removed and the bare steel cowl will be sprayed with Dupont DTM Epoxy primer and then the cowl wood will be reinstalled.
Looking good from the trunk opening forward.

You are thae fun part of the project. I completed my 34 Roadster this May / junejust in time for the Gettysburg Nationals. I had the body painted in April and the rolling chassic completed, Dropped the body on the begining of May and actually drove into the trailor without a test drive to get to the show the next day. Did 95% of the work myself. It is not easy calling the wife to help hold haft of the hood to install. You are doing a fantastic job looks basically what I had to do new floors, firewall, wood ect.
With you body as nice as yours looks in the picture I would go Black with red. If you need another point of veiw don’t hesitate to E-mail me .
Craig thanks for the kind words and encouragement and email me photos of your roadster I’d love to post them on my website. As for the colour my designer wife tells me there is nothing interesting about black and what do I know about colour! 🙂
It’s a huge help to see your experiences and photos as i’m in the early stages of a 5 win resto from a carcas . Most guys don’t make time to photo and share the projects ups and downs as its time consuming but most of us wish we did. Attention to detail makes my decisions easier. So glad you decided to do yours just before me ! thanks Steve. PS love to see some up dates.
Owen glad that my website is helpful to you and if you need any specific photos to help in your restoration just ask. I have hundreds of reference and archival photographs that I haven’t posted to my website. Also I will be posting more updates over the next few weeks so stay in touch.
